  BEWARE! Your progress will not save to cloud. You have to do a lot of grinding to unlock players and it's only on the computer you're using. If you play on any other device, you have to start from the beginning. That's just silly.

  The base game is fun, but the game hasn't been touched in years, and their servers have been down since I got the game. There isn't a way to earn gold coins, because the tournaments and daily challenges require the servers to be online, and you can't even buy more coins. I like the game but I can't get any more characters or play with my friends. Frustrating.

  With all the controversy surrounding the official NBA 2K games, I was looking to satisfy the nostalgia trip I had for the good old NBA STREET days on the PS2 (the OGs know what I'm talking about) and ball up. Playgrounds 2 should be waaay more popular than it is. It may not be as polished as NBA Street Vol.2 felt back in the day, but I haven't had this much fun with a basketball game for over a decade!The monetization isn't as bad as I thought either. I'm playing and getting in-game currency faster than I thought I would, and unlocking more legends is quick and easy. Haven't even touched multiplayer yet and it's been giving me a run for my money.

  Final Verdict: A-2K & Saber should really focus on this game series in the future and consider bringing it to greater heights. The Playgrounds series really brings the FUN factor back into the basketball games, while the mainline 2K lineup seems to be shooting itself in the foot with every release while relying on predatory, gambling tactics that have nothing to do with enjoying basketball.

  First things first.....its not PTW! Play with your online friend in all modes. Keyboard works but its not optimal from what Ive played so far. The controls take some getting used too and its feels slower paced than NBA jams and shooting requires the reflexes of a mongoose but overall I like it. Also I play in ultrawide and its works just fine.Update: My keyboard and mouse config is actually working really nice, I almost bought a steam controller for this game but glad I didn't. I've opened several gold packs and got Durant,Lebron,Pippen,Bird and a quite a lot of "Epics" as well. Some of the Epics should be legends but w/e. I have not purchased any microtransactions. You can unlock all players for 10$ but that kind of ruins the hunt. You can also purchase gear to look pretty but Im just looking play ball and you get points from opening decks so I get some new gear here and there. So far it doesn't feel like a grind, I think all games modes are quite fun. I do wish that assists were counted, backboards could be broken and the sports caster would say BOOMSHAKALAKA but other than that Im loving this game!Updated** After 30+ hours I still love this game but it does have some bugs I need to mention. Worst bug is signature moves are borked a lot of the time, when you shoot you have a meter that indicates when you should release to make the shot but signature moves will be all red with no indicator so you shoot blind or have to pass it out quick.The sound will become muted almost every game, seems to happen after a big dunk.There are some other minor issues but nothing as bad as the bugs I mentioned prior. OOHH one more thing, Devs communications are absent, they are missing in action, there is no dev support or feedback and that is pretty dissapointing. However I still recomend the game as its a lot of fun, Im still enjoying all game modes....its a good game but needs the things I mentioned fixed to be a great game.

  It's a fun game, but if you expect to play games online against real people, then DO NOT buy this game as finding online matches is basically impossible.This game currently averages 80 players online playing at the same time, and it gets lower every day. (For example, on the second day after release, it peeked at 226 players, but since then it's been going down each day and seems like this game will quickly become as dead as the previous edition.)Stats - https://steamcharts.com/app/726590

  Despite some of the citicism I am a big fan of the first game, so there were high expectations going into this one. Critics of the first game bashed the style of play, with a big man playing defense and a little guy shooting three's (typically). Although playing like this was in no way going to win you every game. It left you open for many other options including dunks and alley oops, which filled up your meter way faster than three's ever could. A pretty balanced game in my book. NOW Developers I guess took this criticism and decided to focus the NEW game on DUNKS, DUNKS, DUNKS, and more DUNKS. Every different kind of dunk you can think of, self alley oops, double alley oops, and they fill your meter up like crazy and can potentially give you 4-6 points per basket. NOW threes have been nerfed to the point where every shot is at best like 30-35% chance (that's with legendary shooters). So now threes are completely pointless and every shooting based player is thus completely useless... Which sucks because a ton of my favorite players are virtually unplayable (at least competitively) online. Now what was arcade basketball feels more along the lines of SLAM BALL. Every possession is full of teams zooming into the air and potentially colliding with one another. It's still fun and entertaining, although it sure as heck aint balanced, at least not as much as the first one was (all you use now are dunking players). Many more players were in the first game, and many more players were playable competitively. Now I don't expect a game to have every hall of famer or fanboy's favorite, but this game doesn't even have some of the essential legends: Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, Jerry West; and the Trail Blazers don't even have one of their big three, NURKIC!! ALL IN ALL: This game is still a lot of fun to play but developers have decided to focus everything on DUNKS. IF developers address these balancing issues in the game and brought back shooting characters into the mix again, it can be something truly amazing and popular... Bottom line:------More basketball, less slam ball.

  The game is straight up bugged... 3-pt shooting chances don't increase when you level characters up. It's almost like every character has the same 3-pt chance no matter what their stat is. It's ruining the game completely and I don't know how it hasn't been fixed in a month.

  Here's my tips of getting much ballers (more than 35k/season)1). Select Chicago Bulls as your team at NBA Season with rookie difficulty2). Choose Jordan and A. Gilmore to play (Jordan has the highest steal points and Gilmore is good at rebound and block)3). Do self alley-up as many as you canI don'think you need to spend $$$ to have full rosters and/or skins.-You are welcome-

  If you want to be reminded what is wrong with games of today, purchase this game and constantly be reminded that all of the characters require extensive grinding and or pay-to-play, microtransactions, pay walls to overcome. If you miss the days of picking up a game and going head to head with a friends or friends, those days are over when developers and publishers chose this business model. You can't play based on skill, you play based on how long you have been grinding or how much you are willing to open your wallet to unlock all of those players... Art= Easter eggs hidden that reveled new players, weapons, talents, items, etc.Greed Business model= Pay to obtain new players, weapons, talents, items, etc.
